Abstract

The transition between entangled and disentangled states of the vortex liquid in a clean superconductor with finite thickness along the magnetic field direction is studied using path-integral Monte Carlo simulations. It is shown that within the mapping of the vortex system onto interacting bosons in (2+1) dimensions the onset of entanglement corresponds to a Kosterlitz–Thouless transition between a superfluid phase and a classical liquid.
