Abstract

Travelling in the course of work is often a requirement for NHS staff. The mode of travel is largely by car, and concerns about the high rate of accidents involving people using vehicles for work has resulted in a concerted effort by the police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to improve work-related road safety (The Work-Related Road Safety Task Group, 2001).
