Enriching the Spanish Curriculum at a Large Urban Community College

Abstract

In response to its 1993 Mission Statement and taking into account the multi-cultural nature of the College population and of New Orleans proper, the Spanish department of Delgado Community College has designed a series of new Spanish courses in a Service Track. The five-year plan of curriculum revision includes a preparatory Developmental Spanish course as well as Spanish for Allied Health Professionals, Criminal Justice Professionals, Social Workers, and Business.
