Abstract
Prvi del članka vsebuje prikaz Enodijevega literarnega dela, ugotavlja stopnjo njegove klasične izobrazbe in opisuje njegov odnos do zgodovinske realnosti časa, v katerem je živel, med drugim tudi odnos do Teoderika. Uvodni del razprave o Panegiriku na čast kralju Teoderiku je posvečen vprašanju datacije in okoliščinam nastanka, osrednji pa Enodijevi izvirnosti v odnosu do (šolske) retorične tradicije, zlasti s stališča govorniških opravil (inventio, dispositio, elocutio).
