Abstract
Questions such as “Is it necessary to teach mathematics in kindergarten?” and “how to teach mathematics in kindergarten?” are controversial issues in China. According to many years experience of studying on the development of gifted children and education of young children in kindergarten the authors summarize that mathematics education in kindergarten is necessary but it should not be instructed rather should be experienced by children through touching, feeling, manipulating, playing and experiencing. Based on the law of psychological development of young children, a series of everyday activities for young children’s experiencing mathematics was designed in an experimental kindergarten. In the present presentation, the notions and experience of mathematics education in preschoolers in kindergarten will be presented and shared.
