Abstract

The sizes of lateral ventricles and subcortical structures are abnormal in schizophrenia, and in 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q11DS), a developmental genetic syndrome associated with a 30% risk for developing schizophrenia. Here we investigated whether lateral ventricles and subcortical volumes are related in young adults with 22q11DS with and without prodromal symptoms (PS) of schizophrenia and whether abnormalities in volumes are associated with premorbid adjustment.
