Abstract

The author discusses the need for community nurses and other health professionals to demonstrate spiritual intelligence to patients in palliative care in the midst of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Topics explored include spiritual and emotional impact of the pandemic in addition to the implementation of social distancing protocols, the genuine presence of healthcare providers needed in providing spiritual care to patients, and the expression of compassion to these patients.
