Abstract
In the present study, we investigate the magnetocaloric properties of Pr0.5Sr0.5MnO3 and Pr0.4Gd0.1Sr0.5MnO3 polycrystalline compounds, which were elaborated via the solid-state reaction method, to prepare a composite with a high relative cooling power (RCP). Theoretical calculations were used to predict the proportions of the selected sample. Our composite was found to be active over a very wide temperature range and is characterized by an improvement in the RCP. The obtained results allow us to conclude that our compound may be a promising candidate for magnetic refrigeration. In addition, the critical behavior of our selected sample was studied, and the critical exponents were determined. All results were discussed.
