Abstract

AbstractThe paper presents a unified approach for the design of the decentralized PID load frequency controller, based on the Quantitative Feedback Theory (QFT). This method not only handles the parametric uncertainty in power systems, but also covers a wide range of load changes. The proposed controller design is simple and effective. The digital simulation results on a multimachine power system example with different operating conditions show that the performance of the controller is robust and effectively improves the dynamical stability of power system.
