Abstract

The methods of molecular gas dynamics are applied to the description of heat transfer from a rarefied plasma flow to a spherical metallic or nonmetallic particle. It has been shown that under conditions of strong thermoemission the rate of heat transfer is considerably enhanced as a result of the contribution of hot plasma electrons due to the decrease in particle potential by its absolute value.
