Abstract

Dual three phase (DTP) permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) system suffers from current harmonics due to low impedance to disturbance voltage such as inverter voltage errors and harmonic back-EMFs. The current harmonics usually result in losses and torque ripples in the drive system. This paper proposes a virtual impedance technique to enhance the disturbance rejecting capability of the designed current loops and thus suppress the current harmonics. The stability analysis is carried out to determine the range of virtual resistance and inductance. Experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
