Abstract

Data security is one of the vital parameters everywhere. So many new techniques were proposed to secure data while storing and transmitting from one place to another place. DNA cryptography is one of the security techniques with the help of DNA sequence and codons; we can store the data and transmit data in a secured manner because in DNA sequence there was a strong and strange arrangement of data. So with the help of DNA sequence, we increase data security efficiently. Generally, the DNA cryptography uses old mechanism like encryption and decryption techniques with the help of DNA codons (A, C, G and T). In this proposed technique, the DNA matrix is used with 64 codons arranged in 8 × 8 matrix instead of 26 alphabet keys of play fair cipher algorithm. So, the security of the proposed algorithm is enhanced. In this technique, the play fair cipher technique has been modified with the rules of play fair algorithm, it also consists of lookup table, and this lookup table is randomly changed for every transmission and storing of data. This algorithm is implemented and compared with other existing algorithms based on the time complexities, and it produces a better result. The main objective of the proposed algorithm is to provide security for data while transmitting and storing with the media of DNA.
