Abstract

This paper investigates the spectral compatibility for a communication system operating on same frequency with radar by exploiting multiple input multiple output (MIMO) configurations, where the radar system acts as the primary platform, while the communication system is the secondary platform. A multiple constrained formulation including transmitter power and peak-to-average power ratio (PAR), aims at radar signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and communication power harvesting optimization. The design variables consist of the space-time transmit sequences for the two coexistence systems. We derive an optimal procedure that decomposes the developed non-convex formulation into a sequence of subproblems based on the cost function modified alternating direction method of multipliers (CM-ADMM) techniques. Finally, to reveal the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed algorithm in different scenarios, numerical results are provided.
