Abstract

This study focuses on the electrodeposition of Ni-Co nanocomposites using a modified Wattsbath. The bath is supplemented with silicon carbide (SiC) nanoparticles and an organic additive, Sodiumdodecyl sulfate (SDS). The objective is to investigate the influence of these additions on the structure, mechanical properties, and flexibility of the resulting coatings. Hardness and weight loss tests areconducted, and the coatings are examined through microscopy. In conclusion, this study successfullydemonstrates the electrodeposition of Ni-Co nanocomposites with improved strength and flexibility. Theincorporation of SiC nanoparticles and the use of SDS as a surfactant show promising results. Thesefindings have practical implications for enhancing electroplating techniques in various industries.
