Abstract

In this paper, the effect of Na doping on the activity and stability of Cu/HZSM-5 catalysts for total oxidation of propene was investigated. It was found that the mineralization ratio and stability were dramatically enhanced after Na addition. The addition of Na could promote the formation of isolated Cu2+ species via the interaction of Na, Cu and support, hence enhancing the reducibility of the catalysts. Furthermore, an appropriate content of Na addition would also tune the acidity of the samples, ensuring the balance of the adsorption and oxidation process, thereby inhibiting the deactivation by coke deposition.
