Abstract

Background: The Application of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols in challenging surgical procedures such esophagectomy is still debated. Our previous experience demonstrated the feasibility and safety of ERAS in series of open esophagectomies. The aim of the present study is to assess the adherence of our ERAS protocol during the evolution of surgical technique trough the introduction and implementation of mininally invasive esophagectomy.
