Abstract

We report crystal growth under high oxygen pressure (PO2) atmosphere that yields high-quality single crystals of AgNbO3. X-ray fluorescence analysis reveals that an increase in PO2 during crystal growth effectively suppresses the deficiency of Ag and then leads to low leakage currents. Single crystals grown via the Czochralski method at a PO2 of 0.9 MPa are demonstrated to show ferrielectric switching with enhanced polarization under electric fields along the [110] direction.
