Abstract

One of the most important benefits of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems to multi-user (MU) scenarios seems to consist in achieving high data rate useful for future cellular systems. In order to eliminate interference in MU-MIMO systems, a number of low-complexity interference aware type of receivers were proposed. In this paper an enhanced Interference Rejection Combining (IRC) algorithm and Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) with possible application for Long Term Evolution (LTE) is developed. The performance of the proposed detection algorithm is compared with the one of other receiver detection algorithms such as: Zero-Forcing (ZF), Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) and Maximum Likelihood (ML). Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively detect Inter-Cell Interference (ICI) and improve the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance making it suitable for LTE downlink receivers.
