Abstract

In today changing world, Internet of Things (IoT) is creating a new world, where people and businesses can make more timely and better informed decisions about what they want or need to do. Over the last years, agriculture industry in few countries has been expended to smart agriculture. Nevertheless, the agricultural site in Myanmar needs to be technologically advanced with the practice of IoT techniques to provide smart agriculture. But, most of the existing IoT middleware are built to be used by IT professional because of the difficulty of IoT middleware. To admit end users (non-IT professional) to configure the IoT middleware efficiently and effectively, the IoT middleware need to be fully supported network, syntactic and semantic interoperable requirements without recognizing the latent technical details of heterogeneous sensors and devices. In this paper, we propose an interoperable and configurable middleware that incorporates IoT and semantic web techniques with the existing Global Sensor Network middleware to solve the above challenges. The proposed IoT middleware will be implemented and evaluated mainly in plant growth and yields of agriculture area of Myanmar with different types of users and in addition, more diverse services in agricultural domain.
