Abstract

In this study, a novel conducting MOFs/polymer hybrids were synthesis successfully. [BMIM]BF 4 ionic liquid was first incorporated into UiO-67 and then the composite membranes were prepared by incorporating [BMIM]BF 4 @UiO-67 within polyacrylonitrile (PAN) matrix. The [BMIM]BF 4 @UiO-67/PAN membrane shows enhanced ionic conductivity (2.53 × 10 −4 Scm −1 at 90 °C when the [BMIM]BF 4 @UiO-67 content is 60 wt %) under low humidity condition (35% relative humidity), thus making them potentially useful for electrochemical devices. A novel conducting MOFs/polymer membrane was synthesis successfully by incorporating [BMIM]BF 4 @UiO-67 within polyacrylonitrile (PAN) matrix. • [BMIM]BF 4 ionic liquids are incorporated into frameworks of UiO-67 successfully. • The novel MOF/polymer membranes are prepared by incorporating [BMIM]BF 4 @UiO-67 within polyacrylonitrile matrix. • The composite membranes show enhanced ionic conductivity under low humidity condition.
