Abstract

We study enhanced Imbert-Fedorov (IF) effect of reflected light from an epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) slab and explore its physical mechanism. The influences of ENZ permittivity, attenuation and thickness on IF shift for both s- and p- polarized lights are analyzed based on simulation results. We can find it is an effective method to enhance IF effect by increasing ENZ permittivity, decreasing ENZ attenuation and thickness. We also find when the thickness of ENZ slab is equal to half of incident wavelength, a maximum IF shift of 43.57λ can be obtained at air-ENZ interface for p-polarized light.
