Abstract

An engineering solution of a wideband low-profile antenna system based on an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) is presented. The basic element of the AMC structure chosen is a printed rectangular patches. A system consisting of a “doubled” radiator was used to improve directional properties of the antenna system. The antenna system designed has a profile thickness of 14 mm (0.093λ0), SWR 10.0 dB with an operating frequency band of 40%.
