Abstract

Mastocytosis is clinically heterogenous disorder characterized by proliferation and activation of atypical mast cells with variable organ system involvement. The disease has been classified as cutaneous or systemic mastocytosis. Cutaneous mastocytosis mainly affects children. Our previous studies have shown that prevalence cutaneous mastocytosis ranges from 0.1 to 0.8% of all dermatological diagnoses. This study investigates production of Th1/Th2 types cytokines in sera of children with mastocytosis.
