Abstract

A series of Fe2O3-doped (1–5%) Pt/SO42−/ZrO2 were prepared by a co-precipitation method. The incorporation of small amounts of Fe2O3 into Pt/SO42−/ZrO2 results in an enhanced Brønsted acidity in the presence of H2, which makes the Fe2O3-doped catalysts much more active than the undoped one for n-heptane hydroisomerization. A maximal yield of C7 isomers appears at 3.5% Fe2O3.
