Abstract

AbstractCo2+ doped CdSe nanocrystals (CdSe:Co NCs) have been synthesized via a co‐precipitation method in homogeneous solutions. The anodic electrochemiluminescence (ECL) of CdSe:Co NCs with tripropylamine (TPrA) as co‐reactant was studied in aqueous solution for the first time. Co2+ doped IIVI NCs systems exhibit strong coupling due to Co d‐orbital mixing with the valence band and conduction band of the IIVI host, which causes a ca. 3‐fold enhancement in ECL intensity compared with the undoped CdSe NCs. Benefiting from the strong anodic ECL emission of the doped NCs, we developed an alkaline phosphatase (ALP)‐responsive ECL system to detect the enzymatic processes successfully. An inhibition type anodic ECL strategy has been used to sensitively detect ALP ranging from 0.5 nM to 10 nM, with a detection limit of 0.1 nM.
