Abstract
The paper presents a novel approach for analytical representation of specific energy E and torque T curves versus discharge Q and speed N, for centrifugal pumps operated at variable speed both in pump and turbine mode. An enhanced polynomial expression valid for both E(Q,N ) and T(Q,N) is introduced and validated against experimental data.
