Abstract

Retention of students in nonprofit management programs is important and goes beyond simply an academic tool used by the institution to measure graduation rates. Retention affects the reputation of the institution and translates into funding the university depends on to thrive. Accordingly, it is incumbent upon educators to find more productive ways to affect student success and retention. As such, it is important for nonprofit management programs to identify ways to effectively encourage academic success for students who are in their programs. In this light, the purpose of this paper is to discuss practical strategies for retention of college students in nonprofit management programs.
