Summary

Introduction

During the postpartum period (PP), the functionality of the reproductive system and preparation for a new pregnancy should be re-established. This includes uterine involution and resumption of cyclic ovarian activity (Kandiel et al, 2012; Elsheikh et al, 2013). Complete uterine involution is a prerequisite to the maintenance of pregnancy.
