Abstract

Effects of temperature dependent viscosity and thermal conductivity on a two-dimensional steady laminar MHD free convective flow over a vertical porous flat plate immersed in porous medium with viscous dissipation and heat generation have been studied in the present work. The boundary layer equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations. The effects of variable viscosity, variable thermal conductivity and the parameters involved in the study on the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are investigated by solving the governing transformed ordinary differential equations with the help of Runge-Kutta shooting method and shown graphically and in tabulated form and discussed in detail. The effects are significant.
