Georgeantha hexandra, a new genus and species of Ecdeiocoleaceae (Poales) from Western Australia. Telopea 7(4): 307–312. The genus Georgeantha and its single species are described. G. hexandra is a rare species of sandplains in the Jurien–Eneabba region north of Perth in the southwest of Western Australia. Brief comment is included on culm anatomy, flavonoids and DNA findings, in addition to the exomorphological features distinguishing this from Ecdeiocolea, the only other genus of the Ecdeiocoleaceae.
