Abstract
BACKGROUND Jaundice is a frequent manifestation of biliary tract disorders and evaluation of obstructive jaundice is a common problem faced by general surgeons. Obstructive jaundice of varied aetiology is one of the main cause of hospital admissions. Hence, comprehensive study of aetiology, clinical presentation, management of obstructive jaundice is important in management of these patients.
