Abstract

This article discusses the widespread use of direct borrowings in the texts on economic and business topics translated from English into Russian, lists the main factors that influence the frequency of phono borrowings in professional discourse and presents possible consequences of widespread borrowed vocabulary in specialized texts, which involves communicative and semantic losses, creates difficulties for ordinary native speakers, and requires special attention in translation training.
