Abstract

The emergence of topological states is at the vanguard of modern condensed matter physics. In this talk, I will revise our recent findings regarding the expression of topological SSH edge states on 1D acene and periacene pi-conjugated polymers. Importantly, thanks to the resolution capabilities provided by scanning probe microscopies, complemented by theory, I will provide the relation between the dominant resonant form and the topological quantum class of the distinct materials.
