Abstract

LiNbO3-engineered structures, where different multi-self-frequency conversion processes are possible, are of key importance for its potential use in integrated and computational optics. Rare earth laser ions Nd3+ and Yb3+ with different concentrations have been used, and codoped with Mg oxide to eliminate the undesired photorefractive effect. The crystal growth characteristics, structural and compositional properties of the different engineered domain structures will be discussed. The nonlinear optical properties and applications of prepared structures are also shown.
