Abstract
The Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) launched a Promoting Vaginal Birth (PVB) quality improvement (QI) initiative in December 2020 to safely reduce cesarean section rates among nulliparous, term, singleton, vertex (NTSV) births and increase the percent of cesareans meeting ACOG/SMFM labor management recommendations for cesarean indication (ACOG/SMFM Obstetric Care Consensus #1) in participating hospitals. The objective of this analysis is to assess the association between hospital characteristics and early engagement in the statewide QI initiative.
