Abstract

The Bosnian Serb military commander, who is wanted on charges of committing war crimes, was seen skiing near Sarajevo this weekend. Tanned and appearing relaxed, Gen. Ratko Mladic joined Bosnian Serb national guard cadets training on Saturday on Mount Johorina, a popular ski area before the war. It was the first time in months that General Mladic, who was indicted by an international war crimes tribunal, had been seen in public. It's a nice day today, General Mladic said to local television journalists who encountered him.
