Abstract
This article deals with the procedural difficulties that crop up at the time of enforcement of maintenance order in India. Although the legislative intention in enacting the provisions for maintenance under the code of criminal procedure, 1973 is to provide speedy and effective remedies to the destitute dependants, the object is failed in view of the procedural uncertainities. The endeavour of the article to bring to light the procedural difficulties faced by the litigants in general and the legal community in specific.
