Abstract

This work is a collection of papers prepared for the International Litigation Committee for presentation at the 1988 Annual Meeting of the International Bar Association. There are thirty six papers, each written by one or more legal practitioners from the appropriate country. The subject is the enforcement of foreign commercial judgments in a variety of countries. Like most collections of conference papers their quality is uneven. The book is divided by geographical region into five parts. These are the Asia-Pacific Region (Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand), Europe (all western: Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom), Latin America (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Venezuela), Canada, and the United States.
