Abstract

Many applications have been aimed at the retrieval of public data through wireless media. This requires quick, efficient, and low-power access methods. Broadcasting of the information on air channels is an effective way to provide access to public data for a large number of users. Within the scope of broadcasting, the response time and energy consumption of retrieval methods could be reduced through proper allocation of data objects on single or parallel channels while using proper retrieval protocol that reduces the active time of the mobile units. The retrieval methods attempt to determine the optimal access pattern for data objects on parallel broadcast channels. The employment of heuristics and artificial intelligence techniques provide methodologies for such ideal path planning solutions. Our previous protocols will be revised and supplemented to implement an artificial intelligence search method for the scheduling of user requests for data on indexed parallel air channels. The proposed algorithm has been simulated and analyzed with a goal to reduce response time and energy consumption.
