Abstract

Abstract A “Gem” fluid energy mill was built into an assembly which allowed the temperature, pressure and quantity of air flowing through it to be measured. The feed rate of powder to be ground was also controlled. The increase in surface area of sodium chloride was determined as a function of air pressure and feed rate in order to establish the conditions for optimum performance.
