Abstract
The correct meter reading is the most crucial activity for Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) since this decides the energy that is consumed and this needs to be supervised every month by actually visiting the places and taking a picture of the reading. This is a time consuming process and may be prone to errors. This paper discusses about LoRaWAN Technology and its implementation in monitoring of household energy meters for real-time tracking of energy consumption. This application provides a feasible way to monitor energy consumption, generating billing information and parameters such as signal to noise ratio (SNR), code rate, spreading factor, data rate, frequency of operation of wireless network communication, and indicating the strength of the signal received.
