Abstract

Abstract The observation of fluorescence from S N states produced by photon absorption in S 1 states of chlorophyll species is presented. Electronic energy transfer (EET) from the highly excited states of chlorophyll a or the lently linked chlorophyllide a pair in pyridine to an acceptor molecule. F555, has been studied. We also report energy up-conversion that involves energy transfer from a chlorophyll triplet to the ground state of the rubrene molecule followed by collisional interaction of two rubrene triplets to yield a ground-state and singlet rhyrene.
