Abstract

Development of multi-colour emitting phosphors for applications in LED is always a hot topic in rencent years. Herein, we prepared solid solutions K2Y1-x-yTbxEuyZr(PO4)3 and studied their luminescent properties. Both Tb3+ and Eu3+ emission peaks can be generated by using characteristic exciting wavelength of Tb3+ (378 nm) due to the Tb3+→Eu3+ energy transfer. By simply changing the relative proportions of Tb3+/Eu3+, the emitting color of phosphors K2Tb1-yEuyZr(PO4)3 changes from green (y = 0), through yellow (y = 0.005) to red (y = 0.08). Thermostability study showed that at 150 °C, the integral intensity is 57% of that at 25 °C, suggesting a good thermostability. Finally, we fabricated three LED lamps by using a 365 nm chip with y = 0, 0.005, 0.08 phosphors, and green, yellow and red light can be observed.
