Abstract

The grid-connected wind power generation leads to frequent frequency safety problems in the system, and new primary frequency modulation measures are urgently needed. In order to ensure the economy and safety of power grid operation, it is necessary to conFigure energy storage system for wind farm. In this paper, the control strategy is designed to use energy storage for primary frequency modulation. At present, the SOC imbalance of internal battery components is common in energy storage batteries. Therefore, this paper proposes an adjustable capacity proportional equalization control algorithm based on the current capacity of energy storage batteries. According to the different SOC of each battery component of energy storage batteries and its operating state (charge and discharge), it determines how to reasonably distribute the power deviation signal generated by frequency modulation to each energy storage battery component, so that the energy storage battery can not only support the frequency adjustment of power grid, but also improve its own SOC imbalance. Finally, based on EMTDC/PSCAD simulation model, the effectiveness of this method is verified. Simulation results show that this method can effectively balance the system SOC.
