Abstract
The process of energy separation of a gas with the Prandtl number which is not equal to unity is investigated. The gas flows through a heat exchanger consisting of two coaxial axisymmetric pipes with sub- and supersonic velocities. Heat exchange between the gas streams takes place as a result of the fact that the recovery factor is not equal to unity. The flow is described by one-dimensional gas dynamic equations for averaged quantities.
