Abstract

More efficient use of the energy, the limitation of the heat gain and loss in buildings can be achieved by applying thermal insulation. The process made to reduce the temperature difference between building components is called thermal insulation. Thermal insulation guarantees to decrease the fuel consumption in buildings by reducing heat losses in winter and heat gains in summer. Thermal insulation requires some important measures to be taken to decrease the heat flow of the exterior walls, floors, roofs, installations, glass, and woodworks of the buildings. Thermal insulation can be applied to hot and cold pipelines, facilities, and buildings that have heat loss or heat gain. The processes of thermal insulation do not require a lot of investment costs but can save a considerable amount of energy and reimburse itself in short periods.Besides energy savings, thermal insulation helps to solve environmental problems by reducing greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere and minimizes air pollution. Thermal insulation methods are used in buildings against external climatic conditions to keep the indoor temperatures at the desired level. At the same time, the thermal insulation will prolong the life of the installations by protecting them from corrosion. In addition, one of the most important features of thermal insulation is to prolong the life of a building by protecting the carrier system and building components from the negative effects that may be encountered inside and outside and to ensure health and comfort conditions inside the building.
