Abstract
Current applications of optical coatings to improve the efficiency of energy conversion are reviewed. Conversion both into optical energy (energy efficient lighting, regenerative lamps) and from optical energy (architectural coatings, coatings for photothermal and photovoltaic converters, laser fusion coatings) is discussed. The impact of advanced roll coating technology is assessed.
