Abstract

This paper reviews Electrical Vehicles(EVs), Motor drives, and energy management. The EVs are the alternative to conventional Internal Combustion engines (ICEs) to reduce pollution and provide a sustainable solution. The central part of the EVs is the motor drive. In EVs, mostly Induction motor (IM), permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), and brushless DC (BLDC) motor is used. PMSM is the best-suited motor for EV applications. The overview of various energy-efficient motors is compared to the current EVs available in the market. Because the battery is the primary source of energy, the optimal use of the battery will decide the range of EVs. The energy management system (EMS) is reviewed to address its role in EVs. The reviewed results are compared to emphasize EVs' challenges and current state.
