Abstract

Reducing of carbon emissions rely mainly on Energy management that has a direct influence on the amount of used fuel for the production of electricity. A comprehensive study for the real situation of Energy management in Lebanon was realized by collecting data related to this matter form ministries and international organizations. During this study it has been concluded that Energy management in Lebanon remains relatively modest despite the great potential for energy savings in all consumption sectors. Our recommendation is to adopt urgently a competent Energy management plan to be adopted in Lebanon at governmental level, especially that the country is facing a high inflation for primary energy consumption since 2011, refugees’ crisis, which affected the all of the country’s economic activities.During this study it was reported the fact that primary energy is consumed mainly in the form of final energy and shared mainly between electricity generation by EDL, transport and residential sectors. Also it was noticed a continuous grow in the consumption for household appliances particularly for the air conditioners. All the above confirm the need to work on more efficient equipment at the household level but also to reduce these needs through better thermal insulation of buildings and more widely on urban cooling solutions.
