Abstract
We have measured energy loss of 0.5–2 MeV 4He ions in Mylar and Kapton foil, and hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C : H) films. The energy loss values or stopping powers are in good agreement with the calculation from Ziegler's cores and bonds (CAB) stopping model. No significant physical state (gas-solid) effect has been found in the CAB stopping developed for gaseous compounds.
